Stuttgart, Germany
590 430 inhabitants
Energy efficient refurbishment - Incentives for local stakeholders and citizens - Information, education - Innovative financing and citizens initiatives

Stuttgart’s short-term goal is to reduce the primary energy consumption by 20 % compared to 1990 and to raise the share of renewable energy to 20 % by 2020. Over the long term the City of Stuttgart has a vision of becoming climate-neutral by 2050.

The city of Stuttgart has developed a ‘care-free energy renovation package’ for homeowners. The package is applicable for two types of retrofit work - the heating system and/or the building envelope.

The Infinite Solutions project is co-financed by the European Commission under the IEE Programme.
