Our association is particularly proud to contribute actively to the success of this European initiative, gathering thousands of local authorities across Europe and beyond and which is at the heart of our strategy.
Through their voluntary commitments on the EU energy and climate objectives, Covenant Signatories help both the EU and Member States in reaching their targets. By doing so, they principally seek to improve the quality of life of their citizens, boost the local economy and combat energy vulnerability.
Energy Cities strongly believes that the Covenant of Mayors constitutes an example of success for other EU policies and for its replication to be effective, the initiative must benefit from greater support.
