Want to improve the quality of your public lighting and save money and energy? Get inspired by Zagreb!

The city of Zagreb is one of Energie-Cités’ young and active members, having joined us in 2009.

Among others, the city is active in the field of energy efficient public lighting having replaced on all its main streets the old lamps with new ones providing improved lighting while consuming less energy. Furthermore, the city has regulated the light flow by lowering the consumption during the night when the traffic is not so intense.

Due to these measures, the city of Zagreb is currently benefitting from financial savings summing up to 79.500 € per year and is consuming 1,018,838 kWh per year less energy. The city is also saving 17.800 € per year for servicing public lighting on the streets tackled within this project.

This year, the city of Zagreb will use the money saved in order to further improve its public lighting system.
