Building on the experience of the “Cité de l’énergie - european energy award® (eea®)” label developed in Switzerland, the REVE Jura-Léman project helped stimulate conditions for implementing the label in participating French local authorities. The experiment was a success. Thanks to the support of ADEME and their decision to deploy it on a national scale, the label and its method are now open to all French city and metropolitan councils under the name of Cit’ergie.
Their participation in the European Display® Campaign enabled the French-speaking Swiss partners involved in the REVE Jura-Léman project to become a driving force for propositions in the debate that took place at national level concerning the energy label. More than 28 Swiss public authorities are now members of the Display® Campaign. Whilst continuing to develop in French-speaking Switzerland, the Campaign is now starting in Zurich, thus opening the way to widespread use of this tool at federal level.
The local authorities involved in the project are highly committed and are striving to initiate change-inducing dynamics they can be proud of. All now want to continue their co-operation and networking activities on the basis of an enlarged partnership. Their ambition is to build the energy future of the Jura-Léman (Lake Geneva) area by means of audacious prospective reflections and a series of practical measures that augurs well for a sustainable energy future in these territories.
