The twenty or so participants were given the opportunity to visit the most remarkable achievements of the German Solar Capital, including the famous Rieselfeld and Vauban districts and a fine example of a successful renovation project involving 90 flats.
Political exchanges also took place in the Town Hall, where Mrs Gerda Stuchlik, Deputy Mayor in charge of Environment, Heath and Education welcomed the delegation.
High technology and research were the focus of the visit to the Fraunhofer Institute, the most well-known applied research institute specialising in solar energy in Germany and Freiburg’s largest employer in the solar sector.
