The SIPPEREC visits Freiburg (DE)

by Blandine Pidoux on 15 January 2007 / 1705 visites

Our last study tour of 2006 was organised in December in Freiburg (DE) for a group of participants from SIPPEREC (Syndicat Intercommunal de la Périphérie de Paris pour l’Electricité et les Réseaux de Communication – Outer Paris Inter-municipal Utility for Electricity and Communication Networks).

The twenty or so participants were given the opportunity to visit the most remarkable achievements of the German Solar Capital, including the famous Rieselfeld and Vauban districts and a fine example of a successful renovation project involving 90 flats.

Political exchanges also took place in the Town Hall, where Mrs Gerda Stuchlik, Deputy Mayor in charge of Environment, Heath and Education welcomed the delegation.

High technology and research were the focus of the visit to the Fraunhofer Institute, the most well-known applied research institute specialising in solar energy in Germany and Freiburg’s largest employer in the solar sector.
