The POLIS project sheds light on solar urban planning

by Floriane Bernardot on 20 May 2011 / 161 visites

How to integrate energy efficiency and solar energy in the design of a city? What does it take in terms of planning and legislation?

Let the sunshine in!

An article dealing with this topic was published in the Energy Cities INFO magazine n.39 (April 2011), that you can read on-line.

Our member cities Malmö (SE), Munich (DE), Lyon and Paris (FR), as well as Vitoria-Gasteiz (ES) and Lisbon (PT), know what it means to integrate solar aspects in routine urban planning and decision-making.

This is why they are taking part in the POLIS project, which invites local authorities in different states of urban development to collaborate with each other in order to share their experiences and knowledge of solar town planning.

The current solar planning practices of several European cities are presented on the POLIS website.
