Sewage treatment: Rennes seeking information

Your experience on sewage plants is needed! A member association of communes in Brittany (Western France) has to make heavy investments to update its sewage plant. The association is seeking information on the current legislation and its possible evolutions to avoid opting for a solution that a change in the legislation, especially at European level, would make obsolete. They would also be interested in obtaining good practice case studies.

- Question 1: What is the current European legislation in force (directives, etc.) and what reflections are currently in progress on the issue of sewage treatment plants, in particular as regards the treatment of sludge and its uses?
- Question 2: What are the European best practices in terms of sewage treatment plants and sludge treatment (5,000 to 20,000 inhabitant equivalent plants)?
