Gathering 6,000 participants, the Open Days represent the annual key event for EU, national, regional and local authorities to showcase and discuss EU cohesion policy’s management, results and prospects.
This year the Open Days will be held from October 10th to 13th 2011 in Brussels and the workshops will be organised around 3 themes:
- Europe 2020: How do cohesion policy and the structural funds contribute to a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth?
- Better delivery: How can the EU improve on the delivery of cohesion policy now and beyond 2013?
- Geography matters: Good practice in the field of urban development and territorial cooperation. What lessons can be learnt from third countries?
The IMAGINE workshop
In this context, Energy Cities is organising an Open Days workshop on 11 October in the frame of the IMAGINE initiative :
“Energy & Territory: from multilevel governance to local agreements”.
The workshop is aimed at offering representatives from the EU and local authorities the opportunity to confront views on this three-part question:
- What is the territorial dimension of the EU energy policy?
- What is the energy dimension of the EU territorial policy?
- How can the two be linked, politically and practically?
Participation in the Open Days is free of charge. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
