The Horizon 2020-funded PUBLENEF project, in which Energy Cities is a partner, is developing Energy Efficiency Roadmaps in 11 EU Member States to support policy makers in taking energy and climate action.

PUBLENEF is a Horizon2020 project launched in 2016 that will run for three years. The project aims to assist EU Member States in implementing effective and efficient sustainable energy policies (with the focus on energy efficiency) and empower them to make use of the best practices and policy processes implemented in other Member States at the national, regional and/or local level.

In its mid-term phase, the PUBLENEF project has arrived at a critical phase. The development of energy efficiency roadmaps has been launched in the 11 EU project participant countries. The goal of the roadmaps is to enhance public authorities’ capacity to implement energy efficiency policies and actions.

The PUBLENEF roadmaps are based on the outcomes of the assessment of good practices and needs for energy efficiency policies at national, regional and local level; matching assessment of policy needs with best practices. Energy Cities’ members have played a key role in gathering good practices from the ground on energy efficiency actions!

In the newly launched PUBLENEF Roadmaps Library you can find all relevant information about the roadmaps during their development process. In 2018, Energy Cities will be organizing three key events in Central and Eastern Europe on the successful implementation of the roadmaps in cities and regions.
