Do you plan to be in Brussels for the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW)? During this yearly event, taking place from the 17th to the 21st June, the European Commission welcome delegates from all over Europe to discuss the most pressing energy issues.
The Energy Cities team will be out there, actively participating in different events in the framework of EUSEW with our European partners. Below you find an overview of our “must-gos”…Mark your calendar and don’t forget to register on EUSEW website!
How do we unleash the power of community renewable energy? Energy
communities are new to many people, and citizens are not aware of their
opportunities or the new EU rules. The purpose of this event is to help
citizens, NGOs, business, grid operators, regulators, and national
decision makers better understand implications of the new EU legislative
provisions.

This session will highlight the opportunities available to engage in
the national elaboration of the National Energy and Climate Plans
(NECPs) and stress the benefits of an inclusive process where civil
society and local authorities co-create commitment and allow for
implementation.

This session will showcase citizens action to fight energy poverty,
such as renewable energy projects, local energy communities, solidarity
programs, campaigns for insulation of homes and to recognize access to
clean affordable energy as a human right.

The main objective of the session is to discuss the implementation of
energy poverty provisions within the Clean Energy Package at the level
of communities, cities, regions and member states. The emphasis will be
