Martigny launches its ' energy cheque'

by Claire Iochum on 12 February 2010 / 346 visites

The Swiss local authority of Martigny is recognized as a reference in the field of energy management for its buildings and wishes to actively involve its citizens in actions related to its energy policy.

Indeed, Martigny will be the first town of the Valais canton to host and partly finance the « Chauffez futé » (“Smart Heating”) course. This theoretical module, which has been organised since four years by the French Swiss Conference of Energy Delegates, offers the participants some simple measures to reduce their heating costs. The subscription fees sum up to 90 CHF (61 €) out of which the local authority covers 50 CHF (34 €).
Martigny, an active Energie-Cités member, is about to sign the Covenant of Mayors.
