Now that "energy transition" is on everyone’s lips, local actors, too, must have a say. They are at the most appropriate level to make proposals on how to invent a new economic model, a sustainable and fairer economy.
Working in isolated fields reduces our impact on sustainable energy issues. To drive change in the energy field, the French Covenant of Mayors Club, together with Energy Cities, decided to create the cross-actor Alliance for local energy.
It is aimed at getting the strategies of the French Covenant of Mayors Signatories to meet the strategies of public, private and associative actors of the territory that are willing to reach the « 3x20 » objectives.
The principles of the Alliance, its context, objectives and values are defined in its roadmap entitled « Towards an alliance of local energy to encourage local economy », written by Gérard Magnin, Executive Director of Energy Cities (document available in French).
This Alliance for local energy was created in the framework of the NET-COM project, coordinated by Energy Cities.
