Funding sustainable energy actions: no need to reinvent the wheel!

by Floriane Bernardot on 19 May 2011 / 240 visites

The Signatories of the Covenant of Mayors seeking innovative mechanisms to finance the implementation of their Sustainable Energy Action Plans do not have to look any further.

Indeed, no need to reinvent the wheel thanks to a new thematic leaflet produced by the Covenant of Mayors Office, which provides the reader with a host of ideas and strategies to replicate, from all around Europe.

In the face of financial pressure and budget constraints, local authorities ought to be creative and look at all potential options to finance energy efficient measures and boost the share of renewables: public-private partnerships, energy performance contracting, public subsidies, reinvestment of municipal tax revenues into energy-saving measures, grants from national and European programmes, and so the list continues...

To find out more, download the leaflet available in all 23 EU languages!

Thematic leaflet n°3: "Inspirational Financing Schemes: Food for Thought for Covenant Signatories":
