Indeed, no need to reinvent the wheel thanks to a new publication produced by the Covenant of Mayors Office, which provides the reader with a host of ideas and strategies to replicate, from all around Europe.
In the face of financial pressure and budget constraints, local authorities ought to be creative and look at all potential options to finance energy efficient measures and boost the share of renewables: public-private partnerships, energy performance contracting, public subsidies, reinvestment of municipal tax revenues into energy-saving measures, grants from national and European programmes, and so the list continues...
