Expert Jury rewards seven MODEL pilot cities!

The independent jury of the MODEL Award has gathered in Brussels on 20 January 2009 and has actually had a very difficult job to analyse a total of 30 applications, all of excellent quality, that were submitted by 22 different MODEL pilot cities.

These categories are:

"Best Energy Management Unit" with 9 applications received and two cities rewarded,
"Best Municipal Intelligent Energy Days" with 21 applications received and four cities rewarded.

However, the jury has also decided to create a special award category for the "Best Pilot City 2008" in order to highlight the overall excellent work achieved so far in both categories by one of the applicant cities.

All seven winners will be honoured during the Award Ceremony which will be part of the European Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels on 9th February 2009 from 18:00 to 20:00 when Michael Cooke who is the President of the Jury and also Councillor of Leicester City Council will reveal their names and hand over the prizes.
