European Mobility Week now on Facebook!

In the anticipation of 2010’s edition and – more closely in time – the next month’s European Mobility Week Award ceremony in Brussels, the campaign’s official Facebook profile has been launched.
It is meant not only to inform about campaign-related activities, but also to enable a discussion on issues linked to sustainable transport. The profile will also present initiatives of particular cities in the form of blog articles, videos and photos. It will hopefully become a useful tool for both citizens and cities as a source of information and a good way to share ideas.
Ranging from “Streets for People” to “Improving Cities Climates”, each Mobility Week is focused on a special theme. The Mobility Week is held every year from 16 to 22 September and encompasses a wide range of activities, including a special one-day event called “In town, without my car”. In 2009, some 2,175 cities took part in the initiative, mostly from Europe, but also from Asia and the Americas.
