The ENNEREG project involves 12 Pioneer Regions in the EU, of all types and sizes ranging from islands in Greece and Portugal to the whole of Wales, committed to demonstrating how regions can be a key driving force in fulfilling the EU 20-20-20 goals.
ENNEREG aims to establish and inspire a network of regions throughout Europe – Regions 202020 - to produce regional Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAPs) and implement Sustainable Energy Projects (SEPs).
Bielsko-Biala (PL), Grenoble (FR) and Kaunas (LT) are involved in this project as Sustainable Energy Communities, Covenant of Mayors Signatory or Energy for Mayors Community.
The Regions 202020 Network acts as an enabling environment to inspire EU Regions to take up the challenges of fulfilling the EU 20-20-20 climate and energy targets of at least 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, 20% increase in energy efficiency and 20% of energy from renewables by 2020.
