The representatives from Heidelberg (Germany), Bielsko-Biala (Poland), Leicester (Great Britain), Helsinki (Finland), Paris (France), Växjö (Sweden), Pamplona (Spain), Delft (Netherlands) and Salerno (Italy) have been warmly welcomed by Jean—Louis Fousseret, Mayor of Besançon.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the political ambitions of the nearly 1000 members, with many of them having signed the Covenant of Mayors.
Denis Baupin, Vice-Mayor of the city of Paris, gave a short resume of his presence at the COP15 conference and opened the debate for cities’ actions in the new, post-Copenhagen phase.
One part of this international meeting was also dedicated to the preparations of the Energie-Cités Anniversary Rendezvous in Salerno on 28-30 April.
