One of the acttivity organised during the week is called Living Streets. Living Streets is a day long programme of events being organised by Dublin City Council on South William Street, Drury Street, Fade Street, Castle Market and Coppinger Row on Wednesday 22nd September as part of Mobility Week. Roads will be closed to motorised vehicles and there will be free live music and comedy, an exhibition of cargo bikes and an outdoor evening movie.
Music will be provided by Rory Faithfield, the Niall Toner Band and the Hot Club of Dublin on the main stage on Drury Street. Live comedy acts will include Andrew Stanley, Damien Clark, Eric Lalor and Fred Cooke. When it gets dark we will have a screening of the animated masterpiece ‘Belleville Rendezvous’ on Dury Street. This projection will be pedal powered so we will need volunteers from the audience to keep the show going.
It is going to be a great day so walk, cycle, get the bus or hop on a LUAS and come and enjoy one of the most vibrant parts of Dublin City – car free for a day.
