Delft fosters mutual co-operation and networking
Delft is striving to create a better living environment via close collaboration between the municipal authority, the Regional Energy Agency and the Housing Association Woonbron. They share best practices and policies not only amongst the different local partners but also at the Dutch national level and through city networking on a European level.

In Delft, signatory city of the Covenant of Mayors, all relevant stakeholders are on board working towards the new ambitious climate plans aiming for a 50% reduction of CO2 emissions in 2030, as compared to 1999.
In May, 17 representatives of the Dutch CONCERTO cities of Delft, Amsterdam and Almere gathered in the city of Delft to discuss issues which provide the basis for an innovative and integrated energy policy on a national level. The regional site visit provided the opportunity to look at national regulation, planning and implementation, dissemination, policy recommendations and technical monitoring.
Since 2003, the city of Delft is member of Energie-Cités’ Board of Directors. Lian Merkx, Deputy Mayor of Delft, has been representing the city on the Board since 2006.
