Covenant of Mayors films: A glimpse of the green energy revolution
Three Energy Cities members in place of honour in new Covenant videos.
Across Europe and beyond, Covenant of Mayors cities are stepping up their efforts to secure sustainable living conditions for their citizens, by reducing dependence on fossil fuels and improving energy efficiency. Five Covenant of Mayors films – which were unveiled on the occasion of the initiative’s annual ceremony last November – provide a glimpse of how pioneer cities are heading down that path. In Energy Cities members Bielsko-Biala (Poland), Frankfurt (Germany), Malmö (Sweden), and in the Italian region of Abruzzo, interviewed citizens explain what they would do for the environment if they were president of the EU and why cutting energy makes sense and saves money. These videos created by Christian Vassie (DrinkMe production) showcase very practical examples of local energy production, awareness-raising activities and carbon-free housing initiatives.
