Copenhagen Local Government Summit

Local governments from around the world will meet in Copenhagen for the Local Government Climate Change Leadership Summit on 2nd-4th June 2009. Energie-Cités encourages all its members to attend this event.

This is an important step in the involvement of local authorities to influence the process towards the COP15 in Copenhagen end of this year, where crucial decisions should be taken on the Post-Kyoto climate change regime.

The summit will also give cities and local governments the chance to share their achievements in tackling climate change at local level. Several hundreds of local authorities’ leaders and their national and European networks are expected at the plenary sessions and workshops.
