by Floriane Bernardot on 2 September 2011 / 262 visites

The exhibition entitled « Brussels, a sustainable city! » will be officially opened on September 7th 2011.

The opening ceremony will be held in presence of Minister Evelyne Huytebroeck, in charge of Environment, Energy and Urban renovation for the Brussels-Capital region, of European commissionner Janez Potocnik, in charge of environment, and of Senator Jutta Blankau, in charge of urban develoment and environment for Hamburg.

To host the exhibition, a 25-meter-high tower was specially designed and installed in the Saints Michel & Gudule Park, in the town center. While climbing the different floors, visitors will discover the projects already put in place by the Region in favor of a better quality of life and the protection of the environment, along with their ambitions for the future : make the Brussels Region a European model in the field of sustainable development. Once they have reached the top, visitors will enjoy an amazing view of the city, standing in the middle of a hanging garden.

The ’Train of ideas’ of the Hamburg City - the European Green Capital 2011- will have a stop in the city during the opening ceremony.

The exhibition will be opened from September 7th to October 30th 2011.
