Bielsko-Biala: most energy-efficient Polish municipality

Bielsko - Biała has been awarded the most energy-efficient Polish municipality in the category for cities over 100.000 inhabitants. This was the 3rd edition of a competition organized every 2 years by the Polish National Energy Conservation Agency.

The awards ceremony took place in Warsaw on 30 April 2009 in the presence of the Ambassador of Great Britain, the Ambassador of Denmark, representatives of the Ministry of Economy as well as representatives of several national offices. Mr. Zbigniew Michniowski, Deputy Mayor of Bielsko – Biała, received the price on behalf of Bielsko – Biała city. In his speech, he stressed the fact that this success has been achieved thanks to a competent staff and an excellent work coordination – also in cooperation with the Polish and European networks Energie-Cités.
