Since 2004, the municipality of Besançon has been implementing a programme of quanditifed and costed actions on its energy policy.
By engaging in the experimental programme led by Energy Cities and the ADEME Franche-Comté, Besançon managed to complete more than 50% of its action plan by December 2007, thereby winning the Cit’ergie ® label.
With these preliminary results, the municipality has carried on this process to eventually reach the European label Cit’ergie® eea Gold ® this year.
Besides the City of Besançon, eight other French local authorities were rewarded for their efforts at various levels during the 14th Assises de l’énergie.
The municipalities of Fontaine and Bourg-Lès-Valence committed to reaching the objectives set by the label by 2014 and won the CAP Cit’ergie® prize.
More recently engaged in the Cit’ergie® process, the municipalities of Bordeaux and Quimper, the urban communities of Bordeaux, Quimper and Seine-et-Eure were awarded the Cit’ergie® label for the first time.
4 years after receiving the Cit’ergie label, the urban community of Grenoble just got its renewal.
