The city of Les Mureaux (30,700 inhab.) is aware that energy efficiency and transport are important for territories and decided, back in 2013, to create a platform for training, research and information about energy efficiency and electromobility in the city of the future.
The municipality is supported by partners such EPMI (School of industrial management), Veolia Environnement and other stakeholders : universities, companies, regional and European institutions.
The building hosting the platform (which is a teaching and innovative research lab itself) was inaugurated in May 2015. The building is connected to a new information system which allows for studying the energy flows in the city.
SEINERGY LAB aims at supporting the local transition through 5 goals:
- stimulating economic development,
- contributing to social promotion,
- developing quality of life and protecting the environment,
- offering strong local energy innovations,
- developing and exploiting the potential of synergies created by all stakeholders.
