40 new best practices of our members online

by Blandine Pidoux on 6 August 2009 / 630 visites

Energie-Cités has just published 40 new best practices from its European network’s membre cities. These case studies are accessibles in our online database, under the "Membres actions 2009" heading.

This database, open to all, puts forward more than 500 cities’ experiences in the fields of energy efficiency, sustainable land-use planning and mobility.

To be noted :

- the experience of Kočevje (SI) who has made its district heating system evolved towards wood biomass heating plants, allowing thus to cut greenhouse gases emissions and a more sustainable use of local and natural resources.

- the Municipality of Udine (IT) gives an example of eco-refurbishment in the very city centre. The “Cavazzini House”, a Liberty building, is interested by an extensive refurbishment and will host the city’s contemporary art collection. It is a complex and ambitious project, designed with energy efficiency in mind to increase the energy performance of an existing building.

- the Municipality of Carpi (IT) reveals us how they put in place a new public transportation system, in cooperation with Modena’s mobility agency and taking into consideration environmental constraints and the recent developments of its territory.
