progRESsHEAT Final dissemination webinars #1 - Heating & cooling planning in Eastern Europe: Making outdated systems reliable and sustainable

Organised as part of the progRESsHEAT project
In many Eastern European cities, district heating systems were built during the communist era. Nowadays most of these systems are outdated and inefficient due to a lack of investments over the past decades. In many cases, the heat is generated from technologies using fossil fuels, and these district heating systems are often unreliable and not sustainable in their current state. However, an efficient district heating system supplied by renewable energy is a solution to achieve strong decarbonisation of heating and cooling in densely-populated areas.

progRESsHEAT Final dissemination webinars #2 - Renewable heat supply in six European countries : Insights from the national modelling

Organised as part of the progRESsHEAT project
The progRESsHEAT project team has investigated the future of the heating sector in six European countries (Denmark, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Romania and Portugal). For each of the countries, they have analysed and compared two 2050 scenarios: one “business-as-usual” and one with a highshare of renewables. Results include energy demand in buildings and industry as well as optimal investments in electricity and district heating generation technologies, their operation, as well as resulting emissions and fuel consumption.

ACE-Retrofitting wokrshop & site visit: Understanding and accompanying owners in the energy retrofitting of their condominium

Organised as part of the ACE-Retrofitting project
You are facing the challenge of the energy retrofitting of privately-owned condominiums in your city? One big challenge is how to help owners to take the step from not retrofitting to retrofitting. In order to know how condominiums can most effectively be supported, the underlying barriers for not taking action need to be better understood. In this symposium we will explore the mechanisms that prevent action to be taken, as well as some approaches and benefits of retrofitting.
