In the framework of the World Urban Forum 6, several side events will be held. Networking Events present opportunities to share best practices in an array of subject areas from all regions of the world.

Regenerative Cities – beyond sustainability
This networking event is an opportunity for urban planners, policy makers and civil society organisations to discuss enabling governance structures and policy instruments, resource planning and flows, and the role of energy for regenerative cities.

It aims at an open, balanced and outcomeoriented dialogue. The distinguished panellists will give a brief introductory statement.

City Networking flagship event of the EU-China Urbanisation Partnership

It will get together EU and Chinese Mayors, local decision-makers, city planners, business and NGOs willing to share experience in moving towards sustainable, integrated and efficient solutions.

The Mayors’ Forum shall contribute to the partnership by :

• Facilitating the exchange of experiences and peer-to-peer co-operation among Mayors ;
• Fostering the development of new actions, exploiting commonalities concerning urban methodologies and helping local companies to develop business initiatives related to urbanisation ;
• Supporting Mayors to lead and pursue action ;
• Providing practical feedback to the EU and Chinese Governments on needs and opportunities ;
• Becoming a highly visible initiative that strengthens support to the partnership and attracts other parties to contribute.

La journée s’articulera en deux temps autour du thème "La transition énergétique par les territoires" avec Jean-Marie Chevalier, économiste spécialiste des questions énergétiques.

Les thèmes abordés par Jean-Marie Chevalier croisent parfaitement les préoccupations de l’Alliance pour l’Energie Locale :

• Comment rompre avec le système énergétique centralisé actuel ?
• Comment repenser l’organisation des systèmes énergétiques actuels afin de les rendre compatibles avec une société post-carbone ?
• Quelles stratégies les Etats doivent-ils adopter pour initier/accompagner cette transition énergétique ?
• Comment susciter la mobilisation des acteurs privés, de la société civile ?
